Highlights from SEG Solar's Presentations at RE+2024
From September 10 to 12, 2024, RE+2024 was held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. SEG Solar, a leading U.S. manufacturer of photovoltaic modules, invited industry experts to discuss the current state and future prospects of the solar energy sector in the U.S. During the event, SEG showcased its advancements and innovative products, exploring new opportunities in photovoltaic technology.
According to Jade Jones, Director of Supply Chain Analysis at SEIA, and Colin Smith, Director of Research at SEIA, the U.S. solar industry is experiencing significant growth. The installed capacity of solar power in the U.S. is nearing 210 gigawatts, enough to power 36 million homes, with an annual growth rate of 25 percent. Solar energy has become the leading source of new grid capacity, and substantial cost reductions have made it increasingly competitive, fueling the emergence of new markets. In the next five years, solar installations are projected to grow by 46 percent, driven by billions in investments that are creating tens of thousands of jobs in the solar and storage manufacturing sectors.
Tristan Erion-Lorico, VP of Sales and Marketing at Kiwa PVEL, presented SEG with the "Top Performer" award for 2024. He praised SEG’s outstanding performance in reliability tests, marking the third consecutive year the company has received this honor, which underscores SEG’s rigorous standards for bill of materials (BOM) selection and product quality.
Industry leaders offered valuable insights into future trends. The SEG team also outlined the company’s strategic vision and technological roadmap in response to current trends in the photovoltaic industry.
Mark Czap, VP of Channel Partners and Distribution at SEG Solar, discussed SEG’s strategic planning and expansion efforts. The company’s manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, aims to set up the most advanced automated production lines in the U.S., achieving high automation from raw material processing to finished products. SEG’s quality control system, advanced testing facilities, and systematic talent training framework support the company’s continued growth.
Siwei Gao, Technical Sales Support at SEG, presented the technical advantages of the ALPINE N Series 720Wp product. He highlighted that this module, built with high-efficiency N-type 210mm cells, achieves a maximum power output of 720Wp with a conversion efficiency of up to 23.18 percent and a temperature coefficient as low as -0.30 percent per degree Celsius. Its design incorporates low voltage and high string power, allowing the ALPINE N-type 720Wp module to effectively reduce balance-of-system (BOS) costs and levelized cost of energy (LCOE), making it an ideal choice for large-scale ground-mounted power plants and ensuring reliable returns for customers.
As a leader in the photovoltaic industry, SEG remains committed to technological innovation, product quality, and global market expansion. The company plans to continue engaging in meaningful dialogues with industry leaders to accelerate the innovation and commercialization of photovoltaic energy technologies, contributing to sustainable energy development and a transition to lower carbon emissions.
